My Reaction to "GATTACA"

Hello! I'm Itsuki Iida.
I watched the movie "GATTACA", so, I want to remark about this movie.

I think this movie shows suffering of too much concernning with inherent nature.
In this movie, all of three main characters are dissatisfied with their nature and feel sadness.
Binsent, who pretend to be Jerome, feel complex for his genetical character and disliked the Earth but achieved to become astronaut; however, he finds his surroundings are worth to live when he leave the Earth. Jerome, who gives Binsent his genetical identity, reveals that he disliked his nature and kill himself, at last. A woman, who seems to become girlfriend of Binsent, has possibility of heart disease and cannot go space although she works at GATTACA.

These factors conveys that determining one's life by inherent nature only produces incurable sadness because human are powerless for their nature. Whether one has "superior genes" or not, people can feel dissatisfaction because human has mind.

Although this movie was made about 10 years ago, problems posed by this movie is still effective to think ethical problems related to genetical studies.
